Carbon Fiber Bugle Tube: Our lightest Bugle Tube Ever!Updated 13 days ago

Ultra-Light. Premium Build. Built to Last.

About two years ago, we set out to build something special—something that took everything we knew about bugle tubes and elevated it with the best materials available. The goal? A tube that was ultra-lightweight without sacrificing the volume, back pressure, and sound quality that Phelps bugle tubes are known for.

The Process

The first prototype? Not quite it. We started with a 35% emulsified carbon blend—basically, powdered carbon mixed with plastic and blow-molded like our standard plastic tubes. But it came out too flexible. Sound and weight were almost identical to plastic, so back to the drawing board we went.

That led us to version two: a rolled carbon cloth design, finished in high-gloss polyurethane. We used a T300 carbon weave, not for structural load but to give it the rigidity and toughness needed for calling elk. This version rivals the rigidity of our metal tubes—and honestly, it might even be tougher.

Premium Feel, Proven Shape

This tube shares the same shape as our trusted metal tube, but at half the weight—just 6.5 ounces. It delivers incredible back pressure and performs beautifully with both our Flared Mouthpiece and EZ Bugler Mouthpiece. Inside, we added a latex bladder system for a smooth, shard-free interior, which translates into clean, consistent sound.

Why the Glossy Finish?

Yes, we tested a matte finish. But during field testing, we found this tube already carries a bit of its own noise if it bumps against rocks or trees. The matte didn’t offer much advantage. Since we cover it with a 1mm neoprene sleeve anyway, we stuck with a polyurethane high-gloss finish—it looks great, and performs even better.

We also added our custom-designed Carbon Black camo created with layered blacks and grays over a carbon weave. It turned out sharp, no doubt.

What You Get

This finished version comes complete with:

  • Carbon Fiber Bugle Tube

  • Carbon Black Neoprene Sleeve

  • Flared Mouthpiece

  • EZ Bugler Mouthpiece

  • Integrated Shock Cord

The Carbon Fiber Bugle Tube is incredibly easy to pack, unbelievably lightweight, and it sounds phenomenal. It’s not just a call—it’s a work of art. The finish, the weave, the detail—it’s all top notch.

The Premium Call

Now, we know folks are going to ask: what’s the price? This is our premium offering. The materials cost more. The production process is more involved. We’re working in the same facilities that build parts for exotic cars. But what you’re getting is something you can hand down to your kids—and they can pass it down again. As long as you don’t lose it, this thing will last a lifetime.
